For months, speculation has swirled around television actor Karanvir Bohra and his wife, Teejay Sidhu, with fans wondering whether the couple is headed for a divorce after nearly two decades of marriage. The couple, who got married around 19 years ago, sparked separation buzz after they stopped appearing together on social media.
The speculations intensified after fans noticed that Karanvir no longer follows Teejay on social media, and the latter didn’t come to Mumbai after Karanvir’s father died earlier this year. Now, the actor has finally addressed the buzz.
Karanvir Bohra responds to divorce speculation
During a recent interview with The Times of India, Karanvir was asked directly about the ongoing rumours surrounding his marriage. Instead of offering clarity, the actor chose to keep his personal life private. When asked about the divorce buzz, he said:
“I would not like to talk about this right now. When I don’t want to discuss something, I respectfully say so, and I hope people respect that.”
Further in the interview, the Kasautii Zindagii Kay star opened up about the constant online speculation about his personal life. Karanvir made it clear that he doesn’t let public opinion affect him. He said:
“I don’t let anything bother me. Even when netizens say something nasty, I don’t get hurt.”
Karanvir’s carefully worded response has done little to quiet the speculation, with many fans continuing to wonder about the status of his relationship with Teejay.

For the past several months, fans have been speculating about marital troubles between the couple. In case you didn’t know, Teejay and the couple’s three daughters relocated to Canada a few years ago for the children’s education, and they have been living there since. Meanwhile, Karanvir continues to work in Mumbai.
While many couples manage long-distance marriages successfully, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Karanvir no longer follows his wife on social media. Not only this, but the actor hasn’t posted anything about his wife for a long time but often posts with his daughters, which fuelled online theories that the two had quietly split and are co-parenting the kids.
Speculation intensified further after Teejay was absent from the prayer meeting held following the passing of Karanvir’s father, Mahendra Bohra. Despite the chatter, neither Karanvir nor Teejay has announced a separation or confirmed divorce proceedings.
Karanvir and Teejay have survived difficult times before
The couple, who tied the knot in 2006 at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s ashram in Bengaluru, have often spoken candidly about the challenges they’ve faced throughout their marriage.
During his stint in the first season of Lock Upp (2022), Karanvir opened up about having been in deep financial debt for years and said Teejay, his parents and their children helped him come out of one of the darkest phases of his life. “If it had not been for Teejay, my mom, my dad and my kids, I don’t know what I would have done,” he said on the reality show.
The actor has also spoken publicly about the couple’s heartbreaking miscarriage before the birth of their youngest daughter, Gia. Reflecting on the loss, Karanvir shared how they kept it private while struggling with the emotional impact, later using the experience to advocate for greater awareness around mental health.

As for the latest on the couple, Teejay had penned an emotional post for her father-in-law Mahendra Bohra earlier this year. Teejay has been away from Mumbai since the tragedy but has recently returned to social media and shared that the family has been mourning.
The actress, who referred to him as “Dada”, said the family had observed a period of mourning for 30 days, before deciding to celebrate his life with prayers, feeding animals, helping the needy and lighting candles in his memory. Karanvir also shared an emotional video remembering his father and thanking him for the life lessons he left behind.
As of now, there is no official confirmation that Karanvir Bohra and Teejay Sidhu have divorced or legally separated.
