Davina McCall and husband Michael Douglas opened up about their surprising romance “restriction” ahead of their reported second wedding bash in seven months
Davina McCall has revealed an issue her husband Michael Douglas faced last year had a small impact on their romance. Speaking live at the Happy Place Festival last week, Michael opened up about a problem with his teeth and the effect it had on his jaw.
Addressing the crowd, he claimed using Invisalign, a type of removable brace that help to straighten your teeth, had changed the shape of his face.
“It changed the shape of my face, I didn’t realise your teeth support your cheeks and your mouth and everything,” he shared. “It changed the way I look.” Chiming in, Davina, 58, joked that it made him “even better looking”, to which he replied: “You said that, not me.”
The hairdresser went on to explain that around a year ago, he felt his mouth was “deteriorating in some way”, prompting him to book a trip to the dentist.
At the appointment, he said he was told his teeth were “not in good shape” because he had been “heavily grinding” them during the night.
“My jaw locked shut after my last dental appointment and I couldn’t open it,” he recalled.
As a result, Davina joked there was “no snogging” between them, to which Michael responded: “Well, it was just restricted snogging.”
“Restricted snogging,” she echoed, before laughing: “Thank god my kids aren’t here.” Michael added that he was “going to get some work done” to fix the issue.
Since speaking at the event, Davina and Michael have reportedly enjoyed wedding celebrations for a second time, just seven months after their first wedding.
According to sources, the couple celebrated with a larger ceremony at their home in Kent after initially opting for a much more intimate affair.
Sources claimed the newlyweds “pulled out all the stops” for the celebration and said Davina looked “stunning” in her bridal gown.
A source told The Sun: “They went all out and invited friends and family to a bigger second wedding celebration on Saturday.
“Davina looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. The reception was all about fun. After a ceremony, they drove into the reception on a tuk-tuk which got everyone laughing and cheering.”
They added to The Sun: “They had tipi tents erected and guests danced until the early hours. Davina and Michael really pulled out all the stops.”
The Mirror has contacted Davina’s representatives for comment. The couple’s first wedding took place at Marylebone Town Hall in December 2025 in what she described as “a very small and private” ceremony.
Ahead of Michael’s surprise proposal, the former Big Brother host revealed he sought permission from her children, Holly, Tilly and Chester, who she shares with her second husband Matthew Robinson.
“He joked to the kids and said, ‘Do you want me as a stepdad?’ Everyone is happy for us,” she shared to Hello! Magazine.
