Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Thursday warned that the Supreme Court would intervene if the Supreme Court Metro station is not reopened by the afternoon, after concerns were raised over the difficulties faced by lawyers and court staff in reaching the court.
The issue was brought before the court by Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President and senior advocate Vikas Singh, who informed the CJI that the closure of the metro station had disrupted the movement of advocates and court employees.
As many as 16 metro stations, including Supreme Court, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat, were closed on Thursday as the protest at Jantar Mantar over NEET paper leak row intensified in the national capital.
