After the screening of Jana Nayagan, Trisha was seen leaving the theatre with her mom. She did not intially give the review of the movie. It was Trisha’s mom who had spoken to the media and had praised the movie. She called it enjoyable and said, “Super film. We had a good time, and we really enjoyed it.”

When a reporter revealed that Jana Nayagan will be Vijay’s last movie as he has now entered full-time politics, Uma stated her disappointment. The screening of Jana Nayagan has once again sparked discussions on social media. The movie has been directed by H Vinoth and has Vijay in the main role. The movie also has Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain.

The music of Jana Nayagan has been done by Anirudh Ravichander while the cinematography has been done by Sathyan Sooryan. The editiing of the movie has been done by Pradeep E Ragav. Jana Nayagan released theatrically on July 23, 2026 post facing multiple delays.

Jana Nayagan saw a lot of ceritifcation issues with the CBFC. Originally, the film was supposed to hit the theatres during Pongal, but the political drama movie is being shown as Vijay’s final movie, as now the actor is fully focused on politics. Speaking about Jana Nayagan the movie showcases a story of an ordinary man who is standing up against injustice and then becomes a people’s leader while fighting for corruption and also the powerful forces.

Netizens had mixed reactions to Vijay Thalapathy’s Jana Nayagan. A Redditor commented, “JanaNayagan is a case of good ideas packaged and executed poorly. Glad it is really the last dance for the foreseeable future. The movie was solely riding on mass moments, punch dialogues, Vijay’s aura, and the Thalapathy nostalgia factor. Plus, it being his last film.”

Another one commented, “First half had all the mass moments and goosebumps. 2nd half was campaign; entire hall was silent except for raavana mavanda. But the first half was a celebration, so many theatre moments with unlimited cheers. Disheartened fans also revealed that AI shots were seen in the movie and that the makers did not take responsibility related to the same. Netizens revealed that Thalapathy could have taken a better script, as a user said:

“I’m not blaming Vijay for choosing this script. Remakes have worked for him. Big time. And I also, kind of, understand the notion behind such films because he needs a good boost from his final film for his political aspirations and this movie could potentially give him that.”
