30 Students Fall Ill at Residential School, Food Poisoning Suspected

Adilabad: Around 30 students of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Residential School for Girls in Bellampalli town of Mancherial district fell ill after consuming food on Wednesday night, with officials suspecting food poisoning.

The students complained of vomiting and diarrhoea and were immediately shifted to the government hospital, where they received treatment. Some of them were discharged and returned to the hostel.

A few more students developed similar symptoms on Thursday morning and were also admitted to the government hospital for treatment.

Doctors are monitoring the condition of the students undergoing treatment. Parents expressed concern over the health of their children following the incident.

District officials visited the school, inquired into the incident and are likely to send food samples served to the students for laboratory analysis.
