In the trailer, ‘Pavi’ has been introduced as an Earthbender from the city of Allura. While the normal benders can master one element, the avatars can master all four elements, and they are reincarnated in every cycle. ‘Pavi’ realised that she is the next avatar, and the reincarnation of ‘Korra’ and ‘Aang’.
The challenge is tougher this time, because the world is split into seven heavens and destroyed by a cataclysm, and humanity shows the avatar as a destroyer, not a saviour. ‘Pavi’ gets to know that she is a twin-avatar. Now, her sister, ‘Nisha’, and she will have to discover the mysterious origins of the seven heavens before the civilisation collapses.
The trailer also gave a glimpse of ‘Korra’, a cameo of the avatar during the cataclysm. While ‘Pavi’ (Sheli Khan) is the protagonist, the cast also includes Major Curda as ‘Jae’, Akshaye Khanna as ‘Karthik’, Sakina Jaffrey as ‘Agam’, Darren Barnet as ‘Daemin’, and Dianne Doan as ‘Zi’, among others. Taking to her IG handle, the Indo-Caribbean singer revealed that she had to wait for three years from announcing that she would be voicing ‘Pavi’, and it had been the hardest secret she had to keep. Speaking about Saheli Khan, she made her debut at the age of 11 with a North American Broadway tour, where she was seen in the Disney Musical, Frozen. Saheli is a singer who has her roots in India and Pakistan. Saheli was seen as ‘Young Anna’ in the Disney series. Apart from that, Saheli was seen in Slow Burn Theatre’s production of Matilda the Musical as ‘Matilda Wormwood’.
Saheli is passionate about singing, dancing and acting, and she considers her parents her ‘inspiration’. Speaking about the same to Brown Girl Magazine, Saheli said that her father has been like her best friend, while her mother is a strong, independent woman who always inspires her to do something. Sharing more about the same, Saheli Khan revealed:
“My parents are my inspiration. My mom is beautiful, loving, and she works hard without ever giving up. No matter the task, she finds a solution and keeps on going with a smile on her face. She always tells me, “Whenever you feel overwhelmed, remember whose daughter you are and straighten your crown.” And my dad is my best friend. He’s insanely funny, caring and knows all the best places to eat!”
