A police officer has been shot while responding to a disturbance at a property on the Fraser Coast.
Police attended a home in Yengarie, about three hours north of Brisbane, to conduct a welfare check about 5.45pm.
Upon arrival, they attempted to engage with a man at the property before he shot an officer in the leg.
The officer was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
As of 9pm, police remain on the scene and are attempting to engage with the man.
A Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) declared on Friday after remains in place. Residents within the exclusion zone have been asked to remain indoors, or avoid the area.
