Three women have been stabbed in an knife attack in the northwestern part of France’s capital. The rampage was cut short by an off-duty police officer, who subdued the attacker and took him into custody.
The incident took place near the Porte de Clichy metro station on Monday afternoon. Footage circulating online shows the 31-year-old suspect randomly attacking female passersby with two large kitchen knives.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the attacker was confronted by a police officer, who managed to detain him. The three victims, aged 19, 24, and 36, were hospitalized, with two in critical condition, he added.
