Spice Girls’ Mel C reveals that she had a word with bandmate Geri Horner after she wore a white dress to her wedding last month

Melanie Chisholm has revealed that she “had a little chat” with Geri Horner after her Spice Girls bandmate rocked up to her wedding in a white dress.

The 52-year-old, aka Sporty Spice, married Chris Dingwall in a gorgeous ceremony in the Lake District last month, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

In stunning snaps, the bride was seen posing with Geri, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown after saying her vows, clutching a bouquet of flowers and posing in a crisp white gown, designed by Victoria Beckhamwho was unable to make it to the UK for the nuptials.

However, while Mel B opted for a cream long-sleeved dress, and Emma donned a white and pink suit, Geri’s outfit raised eyebrows as she arrived in a floor-length white dress, with colourful floral detailing.

In a new interview on Australian radio station Kiis1065, the musician unpacked her big day and her thoughts about her guests’ outfit choices. “It was amazing, it was perfect,” she told the hosts.

“My feet haven’t touched the ground really because we had a beautiful weekend with all our family and friends, and then I was in Ibiza, DJing and having some fun.”

When questioned on whether “a few” of her Spice Girls bandmates were wearing white on her big day, Melanie couldn’t help laughing about Geri’s dress.

“I did have a little chat with Geri because it is her favourite colour,” she admitted. “She wears it every day. But she had a beautiful floral dress on and it was white white… I did have a little giggle with her about that.”

It was a poignant day for the group as Mel C teased that there were “several” Spice Girls tracks on the playlist, before sharing that she even walked back up the aisle to a rendition of 2Become1.

She also touched on Victoria’s absence after reports that she was “really upset” that her close pal attended the World Cup final instead.

Addressing the speculation, she insisted: “Victoria was very disappointed to not be there. She was with David in New York and it was the football final.

“She tried to get out of it – she isn’t the biggest football fan, she won’t mind me telling you – but the family were there and David had commitments, being an ambassador for FIFA.

“Of course she made my gorgeous dress and she was messaging me on the day. I actually saw her when I was in Ibiza so we had a little catch up. We were giving her updates and sending her pictures.”

Mel previously told Vogue that Victoria did have a special part to play in the ceremony, held at The Country House in Cumbria, as she designed her wedding gown.

“Victoria wanted to make it much more personal to me,” she recalled. “She found some gorgeous vintage lace, and everything was really delicately dyed to the perfect shade. It’s very flattering, open at the back.”
