BBC Radio 1 star Yasmin Evans has revealed she is pregnant with her first child.
The broadcaster, 35, who is known for having fronted Radio 1Xtra but has also worked across CBBC and hosted on Heart Radio since 2022, took to social media on Friday evening to announce the happy news.
Yasmin, who keeps her husband out of the public eye, broke the news with a photograph of her baby bump as she wrote on Instagram: “My husband took these photos of us, in our garden at home. It’s my deepest honour to have been chosen every time. A little rainbow created from our season. Sending love to those on this journey, no words are deep enough. And for all all your words & love, thank you. Love, MUVVA”
In the photographs, Yasmin opted for an two-piece all-white outfit which allowed her to show off her growing bump, and gave the post a floral theme as she clutched onto a bunch of sunflowers.
The star, who previously hosted the Married At First Sight podcast. was instantly congratulated by her friends from the showbiz world, with Emmerdale star Katie Hill writing: “Oh my goodness!! Congratulations!
Oti Mabuse, who previously served as a professional on Strictly Come Dancing and is now a panellist on Loose Women, said: “Congratulations” as she left a red heart emoji.
Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts said “OMG YASMINNNN!!! Congratulations my gorgeous girl,” and left a string of white heart emojis, whilst
Brooke Vincent, who is best known for her role as Sophie Webster on Coronation Street but recently joined the cast of Hollyoaks, said: “No! I’m crying,” and Yasmin replied: “hehe my girl [hug emoji]”
Yasmin’s fellow radio presenters Zeze Millz, Tina Taylor, Clara Amfo and Sonny Jay were also quick to send their messages of congratulations.
As well as her lengthy career in broadcast, which began when she was in her midteens, Yasmin has also appeared on television, and competed in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2020 alongside Helen Skelton, Nikki Sanderson, Katie Price, and eventual winners Locksmith and Lauren Steadman. As an actress, she appeared as social worker Hilary in an episode of Coronation Street that was broadcast in early 2025.
