Former Los Angeles Rams legend defensive tackle Aarond Donald is serious about a comeback to the NFL and the latest nugget from head coach Sean McVay cemented that notion.

On Thursday, McVay revealed Donald flew his speed trainer out from Pittsburgh to LA for his workout with the team the day prior.

“He’s got such an intentional routine and rhythm,” McVay said to reporters.

“He’s had his same speed trainer that he’s worked out with throughout his whole career that he has back at home or back in Pittsburgh that he’s brought out here.

“He’s taking great care of himself, as we all know. Getting ready to play football and just working out the way that he has, there’s a little bit of a different rhythm and routine. Anything that he does, like I’ve shared with you guys, he’s going to do it with everything that he’s got.”

Donald is certainly testing his limits this summer after announcing his retirement from football after the 2023 season. The Rams have tiptoed around the idea of Donald’s comeback, but have been reluctant to put any pressure on the future Hall of Famer.

But all signs point to the three-time Defensive Player of the Year rejoining the team he spent his entire decade-long career with.

Ever since the Rams traded for Myles Garrett in June, Donald has voiced an interest in potentially coming out of retirement. Since then, the snowball has only grown with the defensive tackle working out at the Rams practice facility in Woodland Hills to the team hosting an official “tryout” for Donald this week.

There is speculation that Donald will have an answer as soon as next week while football fans eagerly await a decision from the 35-year-old.

All in all, it appears Donald’s return is not a matter of if it will happen, but rather when.
