
Hyderabad: The health condition of Priyanka, who sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Rajanagaram on August 3, remains critical. She is currently undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.
According to reports, doctors are planning to conduct an apnea test, but her present health condition is reportedly not stable enough for the procedure.
Priyanka, a native of Kurnool, was pursuing her first-year postgraduate course in Dermatology at GSL Medical College in Rajanagaram, East Godavari district. Her family is settled in Hyderabad.
On August 3, Priyanka and her friend went to watch a movie at Prasad Aditya Mall. After the movie, they stopped near the mall gate while travelling on a two-wheeler. At the same time, a car allegedly driven by Andrew William Joseph of Lalacheruvu, with Suravarapu Dushyanth of Namavaram travelling in it, hit Priyanka’s two-wheeler from behind. Police alleged that man behind the wheel was under the influence of alcohol and that the car struck the two-wheeler multiple times before running over Priyanka.
Priyanka fell from the two-wheeler and suffered severe head injuries. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Rajamahendravaram for treatment. As her condition deteriorated, she was later shifted to KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.
