President Donald Trump was on-site for the third round of the LIV Golf New York event at his golf course in Bedminster.
It marked the third golf event at one of his properties that the commander-in-chief has attended and the second LIV Golf event that he has been to this year.
Trump’s motorcade was spotted near the clubhouse shortly after 10:30 a.m., roughly an hour and a half before the third round was set to begin.
The president drove a golf cart away from the clubhouse and later returned to the area after the third round began.
Trump was greeted with loud cheers from the fans in attendance as he drove by and he waved at the crowd on his way back to the clubhouse, just before Bryson DeChambeau was set to tee off on 16.
A White House official told USA Today earlier in the week that he would be attending the tournament, though it wasn’t made clear what day he would be there.
The president flew into New Jersey on Air Force One on Friday night and arrived at Bedminster at 5:56 p.m., driving through the heavy rain and thunderstorms that rolled through the area.
Trump is a well-known golf fan and had just been at his New Jersey club the prior weekend, boasting on social media that he hit the “Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship.”
The President has also long been a supporter of LIV Golf, with the circuit hosting events at Trump-affiliated courses every season since its inception in 2021.
He has also tried to play a role in bridging the gap between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, which have been at odds with one another since the rebel golf league’s launch.
Earlier this week, LIV Golf confirmed what The Post had first reported: That it secured an investment that would keep the rebel golf league in business beyond 2027.
Details about the investment have been sparse though, still leaving plenty of questions unanswered.
Trump weighed in from the Oval Office after reports came out that the Saudi Public Investment Fund would be pulling funding from LIV after this season.
“I do believe that all of the golfers should be playing against each other. They were viewing something as a monopoly, but it’s swaying away. It should be the opposite of a monopoly,” Trump told reporters in April. “I want to see Rory [McIlroy] playing Bryson DeChambeau. I want to see big Jon Rahm playing Scottie, who is so great. Scottie Scheffler is great.
“They have great players on LIV, but it’s almost like people want to see that. That’s why the Masters was so good, because you saw everybody together.”
