Vijayawada:Seven medical colleges from Andhra Pradesh have figured among the country’s top 127 medical institutions in the IIRF Medical College Rankings 2026, with Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, emerging as the state’s best performer at All India Rank (AIR) 13.
Andhra Medical College was followed by Guntur Medical College at AIR 50, Kurnool Medical College at 57, Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, at 59 and S.V. Medical College, Tirupati, at 69. Government Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, secured AIR 109, while Government Medical College, Ananthapuram, was ranked 127.
AIIMS New Delhi retained the top position nationally in the 2026 rankings. The rankings covered 144 leading medical colleges across India and were also reported by healthcare news platform Medical Dialogues.
The 50th rank secured by Guntur Medical College was welcomed as an encouraging recognition of its academic and healthcare efforts.
