ADILABAD: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has flagged a significant number of absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate (ASDD) entries in the erstwhile Adilabad district, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) facing difficulties in contacting voters and collecting enumeration forms.
In the Adilabad Assembly constituency, 38,668 ASDD entries have been identified among 2,50,393 voters. These include 5,834 deceased voters, 18,557 shifted voters, 4,181 duplicate entries and 9,984 absent voters.
Digitalisation of enumeration forms in the constituency has reached 83.98 per cent, with ASDD entries accounting for 14.88 per cent of the forms processed so far.
In the Boath Assembly constituency, 23,551 ASDD entries have been identified among 2,16,391 voters. These include 7,520 deceased voters, 1,741 permanently shifted voters, 3,376 duplicate entries and 865 absent voters.
Digitalisation has reached 89.12 per cent in Boath, with ASDD entries accounting for 10.88 per cent.
B. Goverdhan Reddy, SIR in-charge of the Congress for the Adilabad Assembly constituency, said the SIR data showed a high number of absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate entries.
BLOs are still collecting enumeration forms from voters but are facing difficulties in contacting some of them. Officials said some of the phone numbers provided by voters were switched off or no longer in use, while others may have changed their numbers.
It was also observed that some voters were reluctant to return the forms after receiving them from BLOs, particularly where they had duplicate enrolments in urban and rural areas. Some voters are understood to have retained their rural enrolment while not submitting forms in urban areas.
Officials and field staff are continuing efforts to contact such voters and complete the enumeration process.
