BENGALURU: Opposition parties-Janata Dal Secular and Bharatiya Janata Party are all set to take-out a march from Byramangala, one of the villages to be affected by the proposed Bidadi Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township in Bengaluru South district from Sunday for 3-days, ahead of the start of the march, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday constituted a Committee headed by retired Judge Guhanathan Narendar.
The Committee will conduct a comprehensive look into various aspects of the Bidadi Township Project and make recommendations to the State Government. Shivakumar said the Committee has been formed to respect the sentiments of the people to be affected by the Project and to take all sections of the affected villages into confidence. The Township Projects spans across 7, 481 acres in villages between Harohalli and Bidadi in Bengaluru South district.
Meanwhile, JDS with the support of its alliance partner BJP will begin padayatra and it will end at Freedom Park in Bengaluru where a convention would be held against the displacement of farmers from the Bidadi Township Project.
Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy at a press conference in Bengaluru on Saturday stated his party MLAs will raise the issue of Bidadi Township Project in the ensuing Assembly session.
