One of the state’s most potent trainer-jockey combinations rejoin forces to hunt another sprint scalp at Monday’s feature Dubbo meeting.

On Dubbo Cup and Sprint Prelude day, Scone-based Cameron Crockett and top jockey Aaron Bullock combine aboard a tough and ultra-consistent mare chasing a third straight win in the feature dash over 1120m.

Not Written Off, a still lightly raced six-year-old daughter of Written By, has taken her strike rate to nearly 30 per cent from 23 starts by winning her last couple at Tamworth.

She drove home very late to claim a Benchmark 74, before an even more impressive win when finishing hard in a BM 82.

Now, two big factors suggest she’s again ripe for the money at Dubbo.

Not only has Bullock been booked to ride, the stable elected to run promising and resuming stablemate Where’stheprofit at Sunday’s Muswellbrook card instead.

Crockett is easily in the best run of his career.

Before that closer at Muswellbrook, he had a terrific 10 individual winners from his last 16 runners, including consecutive Class 3 Highways at Randwick with Leovanni, and the feature Kirby sprint at Grafton with Durova.

Bullock too is not taking his foot off the pedal.

A treble at last Friday’s Coffs Harbour meeting took his winning haul to nine from his last 26 rides, and 17 from his last 50.

Not Written Off opened around $4 in early betting for the Sprint Prelude, but is destined to start much shorter.

Meanwhile, the Dubbo Cup Prelude over 1420m to close the meeting has Bullock teaming up with Inverell trainer Todd Payne aboard tough six-year-old Shamedy.

Despite not having won since Armidale early last spring, Shamedy opened around $5.50 in a wide betting race just behind Prince Of Sorts ($5.00), with Nomorenightshift ($6.00) also well in commission.

The meeting is likely to be run on a soft surface, with showers forecast in the 24 hours leading up.
