East Godavari: Venkatesh, the father of Rajahmundry medico Priyanka, has demanded that those responsible for his daughter’s condition be hanged immediately.

Speaking to the media, Venkatesh said, “We have been living with hope all these days, but now her organs have completely failed.” He alleged that neither Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu nor Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had reviewed the situation and demanded strict action against the accused.

He alleged that it was not an accident but may have been a deliberate act. He further questioned why the accused, if they were in an inebriated state, did not hit the divider and why they allegedly hit Priyanka’s vehicle, braked, and then rammed into it again, three times in total.

Meanwhile, East Godavari SP Narsimha Kishore, speaking to the media on Sunday, explained the sequence of events leading to the August 3 accident.

According to the SP, Priyanka was returning home with her friend after watching a movie on August 3. At the same time, the accused, who was allegedly in an inebriated condition, entered a mall. Security personnel reportedly stopped him from entering the premises. The accused allegedly attacked the security personnel and attempted to flee.

When security personnel tried to catch him, they allegedly drove away recklessly. During the attempt to escape, their car hit Priyanka’s vehicle three times before they fled the scene.

Priyanka was initially shifted to Swatantra Hospital on August 3. Police subsequently recorded the statement of Umesh, who was accompanying her at the time of the accident.

Police also examined CCTV footage, which reportedly captured the accused’s vehicle hitting Priyanka’s vehicle three times. The SP said that the accused was already arrested and sent to judicial remand.

The SP said several cases were filed against the accused (Suravarapu Dushyanth and Andrew William Joseph) and maintained that the investigation was being conducted transparently. He assured that there would be no irregularities in the probe and said the investigation was being carried out in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
