Cybercrime Call Centres Busted In Delhi

operating through fraudulent call centres in Delhi, arresting 21
Telugu‑speaking women and one male bank account holder.

The network had been active for 18 months, targeting victims in the Telugu
states. Coordinated raids at three centres in Shiva Market in Delhi led to
the arrests, while organisers Lalith Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Anil remain
absconding, TGCSB director Shikha Goel said.

The organisers recruited women aged 25 to 40 from Korutla, Saidabad,
Borabanda and Mahbubnagar, using their fluency in Telugu to gain victims’
trust. The telecallers impersonated representatives of a finance company and
offered fake loan approvals.

During the raids, 23 mobile phones and two bank passbooks were seized. Links
to 22 cybercrime cases across Telangana have been established, with further
investigation underway.

Modus operandi:

· Recruit Telugu‑speaking women in Delhi as telecallers.

· Impersonate finance company staff, promise loan approvals.

· Collect payments under false heads: processing fees, verification
charges, documentation, insurance.

· Stop communication or demand more money with false promises.

· Resort to intimidation and blackmail when victims seek refunds,
threatening legal action or misuse of personal documents.

Drunk driver kills man, injures son in Kothaguda

A man died and his son was injured when an allegedly drunk driver rammed his
SUV into their bike early on Monday in Kothaguda, police said.

Madhapur police identified the victim as Chella Srinivas, 50, of Wanaparthy.
He had gone to Hafeezpet on Sunday to meet his son Shiva Kumar. Early
Monday, they were heading towards Gachibowli for Srinivas to catch a bus to
Wanaparthy when SUV driver P. Abhinay allegedly hit them near the Kondapur
RTO office. Srinivas died on the spot, while Shiva Kumar survived with
injuries and was discharged from hospital later.

Police said Abhinay, a native of Vijayawada, had come to the city a few days
ago for job hunting and was staying with friends in Hafeezpet. He was caught
in an inebriated state and taken into custody. A case under BNS 106 (1) for
rash and negligent driving was registered.

Eight students booked for assaulting Class 10 boy

Jawaharnagar police booked a case of assault under the SC/ST (Prevention of
Atrocities) Act against eight students of Sri Chaitanya School, Dammaiguda,
after a Class 10 boy was attacked in the hostel. The institution was also
booked for negligence.

The 15‑year‑old victim, a native of Kamareddy, was staying in the hostel.
Police said a long-running quarrel over bedding and food turned violent on
Friday night, when the eight students dragged him into another room and beat
him up.

The next day, the Sri Chaitanya management management informed the boy’s
father that the student had fallen down a flight of stairs. Jawaharnagar ACP
S. Chakrapani said the mother took the boy home, where he revealed that he
had been assaulted.

The parents lodged a complaint on Monday. Police registered a case against
the eight students and the school management. The ACP confirmed the boy did
not suffer major injuries and is currently with his parents in Kamareddy.

Inter-state Ganja racket busted, 3 arrested

The EAGLE Force and the LB Nagar police arrested a woman and her two
suspected associates for allegedly smuggling ganja from Odisha and selling
it in the city. They were caught red-handed while allegedly delivering a
six-kg consignment of ganja in LB Nagar early on Monday.
EAGLE Force director Sandeep Shandilya said the gang had made 11 deliveries
over a period of eight months. In a statement, he identified the accused as
Sunitha Nag, Pokka Dirdo and M. Rajesh. Another suspect, Satyanarayana,
managed to escape and three others, Shivashankar, Lakhan and Mallesh, are
absconding.
Police said Nag and Dirdo, after alighting a bus from Bhadrachalam, reached
at LB Nagar and called Satyanarayana. He reached the spot along with Rajesh
and Shivashankar to collect the contraband. The police, waiting there based
on prior information, arrested them, Shandilya said. Satyanarayana escaped.

Nag, a native of Malkangiri, Odisha, reportedly revealed that she procured
the contraband from her cousin Lakhan, who used to source it from
cultivators. She made the trip every month to the city and sold the
contraband to consumers at the same spot in LB Nagar.

Four members of ‘hidden treasure racket’ nabbed

The Shamshabad zone task force and Rajendranagar police arrested four
members of a gang that allegedly cheated 11 persons of `1 crore under the
false pretext of locating hidden treasure and converting coal to gold.
Police said the prime accused, T Mohd Munawar of Gudimalkapur, used to claim
that he had the ability to locate treasure buried beneath their houses,
Shamshabad task force additional DCP K.S. Rao said.
Police said that upon being hired, the gang would plant a sack of coal along
with some duplicate gold-coated coins. They would then claim they needed to
perform rituals by which the coal would become gold.
Apart from two cars, the police seized 25 ‘rolled gold’ coins, six kilograms
of coal, four kilograms of soil and puja items.

Wrong-Side Car Hits Bike in LB Nagar: 23-Year-Old Killed, Friend Critical

A 23-year-old driver died and his friend suffered multiple injuries when a
car travelling on the wrong side of the road rammed their two-wheeler near
LB Nagar court in the early hours of Monday.

A complaint lodged by Syed Asif Uddin, identified the victim as his brother
Syed Toufiq Uddin and the survivor as his friend Syed Ayaan. They wer
travelling towards Autonagar from Asifnagar.

The accident occurred around 4 am. An electric car being driven by a person
identified as Hemanth, came from the opposite direction on the wrong side of
the road. Police said the car was being driven rashly and negligently and
collided with the motorcycle.

The impact left Toufiq with severe injuries and he died on the spot. His
friend Ayaan, who was travelling as the pillion rider, sustained multiple
injuries and was stated to be in critical condition. He was taken for
medical treatment.

After receiving information from the LB Nagar police, Asif Uddin reached
Osmania Hospital, where his brother’s body was taken. He subsequently lodged
a complaint seeking action against the driver.

7 arrested over attack on youths in Karimnagar

Karimnagar III Town police arrested seven persons, including a corporator, on Monday in connection with an attack on two youths at Kisannagar.

The arrested were 29th division corporator Somidi Venu Prasad, Kudidhi Nagender, Panthangi Madhu, Nerella Nagaraju, Sriramoju Bhanuchander, Sangam Venu and Pathangi Shashidhar. They were produced before a court.

Police said two youths, Guguloth Srikanth and his brother Shekhar, were injured when a group allegedly attacked them with knives and broken beer bottles at Vepachetla grounds in Kisannagar at around 10.30 pm on Sunday. Srikanth sustained stab injuries.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victims, police registered a case under BNS Sections 191(2), 191(3), 109(1) read with 190, and Sections 3(1)(r)(s), 3(2)(va) and 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act, 2015, and arrested the accused.

Meanwhile, local MLA Gangula Kamalakar visited Srikanth at the district headquarters hospital and spoke to him.

Kamalakar criticised the BJP, alleging that its corporator and followers attacked Srikanth because of his association with the BRS.

He questioned whether Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar was aware of developments involving the BJP in Karimnagar. He said the incident might not have occurred had Sanjay Kumar reacted to the earlier incident in which his camp office was allegedly attacked by BJP workers.

Four arrested after fatal Hydershakote crash

A SUV with a drunk driver with the wheel mowed down a former Army man and
let two others injured after ramming into two bikes at Hydershakote early on
Monday. Narsingi police said they arrested four persons.

The SUV, driven by U. Veeresh, a delivery executive, hit a retired Army
jawan, U. Ravinder, who was returning home on his two‑wheeler. The impact
threw him off the vehicle, and he died on the spot. Ravinder, who had
retired from the Army, was working as a security guard in the military area
at Mehdipatnam.

The SUV also hit two persons on a bike belonging to an app-based service,
leaving them seriously injured. One suffered a leg fracture. Both were
shifted to a private hospital.

Police said the SUV belonged to techie Kranthi Goud, who had hosted a party
to celebrate a new job. Veeresh, Kranthi and two others consumed alcohol
before travelling in the vehicle. Veeresh, the driver, and Kranthi were
labelled as the first two accusedd.

After the crash, the four abandoned the SUV and fled. Police traced the
vehicle through registration details and identified it as belonging to a
Shamshabad resident. All four were taken into custody.

Investigators are examining whether excessive speed and drunken driving led
to the accident and are collecting evidence on the sequence of events after
the party.

Police released details only late in the evening, despite the accident
occurring in the morning. The delay and vague responses about the accused
raised questions over the handling of information in the case.

14-year-old girl dies after treatment by RMP doctor in Khammam

A 14-year-old girl died allegedly after developing complications following an injection administered by an RMP doctor at Baswapuram in Konijerla mandal of Khammam district.

The deceased was studying in Class VIII at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

Parents said they took their daughter to RMP doctor Maruthi Sampath on Sunday after she developed cold and fever. The doctor administered an injection, following which she developed respiratory problems.

As her condition deteriorated, the parents shifted her to a private hospital in Khammam, where doctors conducted an ECG and declared her dead.

The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with Konijerla police, alleging that she died due to negligence in the treatment provided by the RMP doctor.

Konijerla police said the parents also alleged that the doctor was under the influence of alcohol while treating the girl and suspected that she might have been administered an overdose of medicine. The doctor was “absconding” after the incident.

Police registered a case and took up an investigation.

Relatives of the girl staged a dharna on the main road demanding action against the doctor. Police reached the spot and persuaded them to withdraw the protest, promising them action. The girl’s body was later shifted to Baswapuram, where the final rites were performed.

Five killed in separate road accidents

Five people died in separate road accidents in the city and outskirts over
the past two days.

In one incident, anaesthesia technician V. Suresh, 45, of SMR Apartments,
Kothapet, was killed when a lorry hit his motorcycle on Nagole Musi Bridge
late on Sunday night. Suresh was returning home after duty at a hospital in
Chilukanagar. He died on the spot.

Under Jubilee Hills police limits, L.N. Suvarnapudi Anand of Yousufguda,
died after falling from his motorcycle. Police said his vehicle hit a road
divider on August 5. He was admitted to hospital with injuries and succumbed
on August 9.

At Shivarampally, Attapur police said Mubeen bin Sabir Badras, 19, of
Bahadurpura, was killed when a speeding lorry hit his motorcycle on August 9
night. He was travelling with his friend Nasir and his mother. All three
were injured and shifted to Osmania Hospital, where Mubeen died shortly
after.

In another case, Ramawat Vasuram, 80, of Jubilee Hills Road No. 5, died
following injuries sustained in a crash near MIG Garden under Kadthal police
limits. While travelling with his son, their car collided with a SUV during
an overtaking manoeuvre. Vasuram was admitted to NIMS Hospital and died last
night after prolonged treatment.

At Kondurg, Begari Narasimhulu, 57, of Medipally Kalan, Vikarabad district,
died after being hit by an RTC bus. Police said he was travelling on a
motorcycle on August 3 when the bus, driven recklessly near TGWRS circle,
knocked him down. Narasimhulu was admitted to Osmania Hospital, where he
died on August 9 night.

Photographer alleges wife kidnapped by in‑laws

A week after marrying a government nurse, a photographer lodged a complaint
with Manchal police alleging that his in‑laws and 15 others trespassed into
his house, attacked him and kidnapped his wife.

Police said the incident created a stir in Chittapur as locals chased two
cars carrying the woman, Kalyani. One car broke down, but the attackers
escaped in another.

According to police, P. Praveen, 24, of Chittapur, and P. Kalyani, 26, of
Santoshnagar, married at Yadagirigutta temple last week. They were staying
in a rented house in Chittapur, though Kalyani’s family opposed the
marriage.

Manchal station house officer A. Madhu said police tracked the car’s
registration and arrested Kalyani’s family members. Over 100 villagers
gathered demanding action.

Later, Kalyani told police she had gone with her parents willingly. The
kidnap case was dropped, but an FIR was registered and investigation is
continuing.

Jagtial CMR rice fraudster gets bail within two days

Konda Laxman, accused of misusing `87 crore worth custom milled rice (CMR) has secured anticipatory bail, two days after officials filed a case against him. A follower of Nizamabad BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind, Laxman participated in Bonalu celebrations held in Jagtial on Sunday.

Vigilance and enforcement officials had recently carried out raids in three rice mills owned by Laxman and his family members in Jagtial Rural mandal. During the verification of records, it was found that about `87 crore worth CMR was missing in the three mills.

Based on a complaint by civil supplies officials, Jagtial Rural police registered cases against the owners of three mills. Lxman absconded after the raids and registering of cases surfaced after getting anticipatory bail.
