Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) to increase the number of coaches in trains in accordance with growing passenger demand. He also instructed officials to expedite works related to the Old City Metro corridor as part of Phase-II.
acquiring land along the 7.5-km stretch in Old City from MGBS to Chandrayangutta early and initiate the tendering process for the Metro Rail works.
With regard to the 7.5-km MGBS-Chandrayangutta corridor under Metro Phase-II, Revanth Reddy asked officials to consult Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and obtain advice on the latest technologies that could be adopted. He stressed the need to make use of contemporary technology and expertise to ensure efficient implementation of the Old City Metro Rail.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the preliminary arrangements for the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 scheduled to be held in Future City in December. He directed officials to begin advance preparations and ensure smooth and successful conduct of the summit.
Revanth Reddy emphasised that the Global Summit should be organised to international standards with a strong focus on attracting investments to the state. He directed officials to submit comprehensive details of the investments attracted to Telangana and the progress achieved following last year’s summit.
He also asked them to prepare a detailed action plan to achieve further progress in investments and strengthen Telangana’s position as an attractive global investment destination.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan, government advisers K. Ramakrishna Rao and N.V.S. Reddy, HMRL managing director Sarfaraz Ahmed and additional managing director B. Ajith Reddy and other senior officials attended the meeting.
