Suriya has once again won audiences’ hearts with his performance as ‘Sanjay Vishwanath’ in the recently released film Vishwanath and Sons. Playing a 40-year-old businessman, the actor brought ease, maturity and balance to the character, and received huge applause from audiences. Speaking at the film’s success meet on Saturday, director Trivikram Srinivas showered praise on Suriya and Mahesh Babu, saying that they are two stars in the Indian film industry for whom age is merely a number. He said both actors continue to age gracefully and are enjoying a huge fan base.
Trivikram revealed that he had approached Suriya for a film earlier, but the actor did not like the story. He added that he is keen to work with Suriya in the future. He said that his wife is a huge fan of Suriya and added that his wife usually does not visit film sets, but made an exception this time. She visited the sets and even took a photograph with Suriya.
Speaking about the film, Trivikram described Suriya, Radhika, Mamita and Raveena as the four pillars of Vishwanath and Sons. Trivikram said Suriya’s role was one of the most challenging characters in the film and praised the actor for delivering it with much ease.
Trivikram also credited Venky for bringing back the much-loved Sanjay character from Ghajini. He said the character had left a lasting impression on audiences and that Venky made every effort to recreate the essence of Sanjay, a character that continues to be remembered. Trivikram also recalled hearing from Allu Aravind that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan had once said he could not match Suriya’s performance in Ghajini.
Speaking at the success meet, Suriya thanked audiences for making Vishwanath and Sons a grand success. He expressed gratitude to Trivikram and Vamshi for their support and said he hoped to collaborate with Vamshi on more films in the future.
