Himanshi Khurana breaks silence on religious conversion
Recently, in an interaction with Paras Chhabra for his podcast, Himanshi Khurana talked about a challenging phase of her life, and her past relationship with Asim Riaz. Without naming anyone directly, Paras asked Himanshi if the rumours about her breakup depending on the religious conversation were true. To this, she stated that if she made any comment, it would get controversial, but he talked about the good things about his religion, which everyone does.
For those who don’t know, Himanshi and Asim met while they were together as part of the reality show Bigg Boss 13 in 2018. They were the most talked-about couple, even after the controversial show ended. However, they ended their relationship in December 2023. Back then, Himanshi stated religion as the reason behind their breakup.
Himanshi revealed that Asim never misbehaved with her. However, they would often discuss their relationship and he wanted her to understand and accept his belief system. But Himanshi’s heart kept telling her that she was betraying her own God. She revealed that one night Asim told her that she won’t be allowed to do something. Himanshi made sure not to share the details, but revealed how she reacted to it. She said:
“Ek raat aisa incident hua ki mujhe bola ki yeh cheej nahi kar sakte iske baare. And I swear mai ne aisi cheej boli, mai ne kaha usse pehle mujhe chaar dham, saare mandir pure karne hai kyunki fir mai kabhi nahi mil paungi. Ki jaise mai alwida bol rahi hoon.”
Himanshi stated that this thought was big as she felt she was saying goodbye to her God. She accepted that she would read her partner’s prayers but no one would know whom she is praying to, and it might look like a betrayal. She said:
“I said, if I bow my head before your God, automatically ‘Waheguru’ will come out of my mouth. That would also be a betrayal. And this is already inside me. How can I remove it? Even if we turn the tables, they wouldn’t be able to do it either. It’s not possible because we have been following these things since childhood. Whatever it is, it is inside us.”
Himanshi further revealed that she started wondering if she would be cremated or burried as she kept feeling anxious subconscious about leaving her religion. She said:
“Mujhe jalaya jayega ya dafnaya jaayega yeh mera self-conscious mujhse puch raha hai. Choice toh meri kuch bhi ho sakti hai ki mai kuch bhi apnana chahti hoon.”
It was on December 7, 2023, Asim took to his Instagram handle and shared a note on his IG handle. He shared that they have decided to part ways as they have different religious beliefs. Asim added that they are adults and can make their own decisions. He further accepted that he had told Himanshi to reveal the truth behind their separation.
After announcing her separation from Asim, Himanshi leaked her chats with her ex on the social media platform, X. In the screenshot of their WhatsApp chat, Himanshi wrote, “You said I did”, and Asim replied, “Sahi hai.” He further added that she should also write the reason about their breakup. To which, Himanshi replied that she had mentioned it, but deleted it later, thinking he might get trolled.
