A host of celebrities have been spotted out and about wearing an unusual fashion accessory as they made their way to a range of shows that mark the beginning of London Fashion Week. Heartstopper actress Jenny Walser, TV presenter Charli Fisher and former Love Islander and model Jordan Hames were pictured n the capital wearing a purple beanie.

Phoenix Brown – daughter of Spice Girl Mel B –was seen at the H&M&YOU&I event wearing the headpiece, which has a pair of cartoon eyes. The quirky, fully reversible purple and yellow hat draws inspiration from Grimace, the iconic McDonald’s character who first burst onto the scene in 1971.

Jenny, best known for her roles as Tori Spring in the hit Netflix series and Louise Wrigley in Call The Midwife, were seen wearing the accessory ahead of the Mithridate Show at Space House on Thursday. Meanwhile, Charli modelled the beanie as she turned up for The Art of Belonging show at Asia House in central London.

Jordan, who shot to fame on the 2019 series of Love Island, showed off the eye-catching hat as he made his way to 180 The Strand, while stylist and designer Kyle De’Volle turned heads wearing the beanie as he rocked up at Dover Street Market for the BFC Jewellery Showcase.

The eye-catching beanie has been launched to mark the arrival of McHappy Day, a new fundraising day taking place across the UK with the aim of raising vital funds for Ronald McDonald House UK.

Ella Joseph, CEO at Ronald McDonald House UK, said: “We are so excited to see the limited-edition Grimace Beanie getting such a warm reaction at London Fashion Week.

“As we head into Autumn, a beanie is a stylish essential, but it also contributes to McDonald’s McHappy Day fundraising as all proceeds from every Beanie sold will be donated directly to Ronald McDonald House UK.

“Ronald McDonald House UK offers vital support for families with children in hospital by providing them free accommodation, within walking distance of their ward.”

She added: “The 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK give families access to community and a place that they can call home, helping to alleviate the practical and financial pressures that come with hospital stays.

“This means that with every purchase of a Grimace Beanie, customers can help make a real difference to families when they need it most.”

Scheduled for Saturday 26th September, £1 from every qualifying main meal purchased at selected restaurants will go straight to the charity, bolstering its efforts to support families of seriously ill children throughout the UK.
