
Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court on Friday directed the police to not arrest BRS social media convener Manne Krishank in a case registered against him by the Nampally police, observing that the offences invoked against him in the FIR attracted imprisonment of less than three years.
Justice T. Madhavi Devi was hearing a lunch-motion writ petition filed by Krishank seeking protection from arrest. The court directed the police to issue him a notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS and asked Krishank to cooperate with the investigation. The court also issued notices to the home secretary, the city police commissioner and the Khairatabad DCP.
The FIR was registered against Krishank at the Nampally police station on September 17 on various charges, over a social media post concerning recent incidents at Saifabad police station and the functioning of the police department.
