HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Friday said despite the harassment by the Congress government which was allegedly targeting BRS leaders to divert public attention from pressing problems facing the people, he would cooperate, as he has been doing, in the case relating to alleged irregularities in the Formula E race case.
Rama Rao said he had appeared before the court and would continue to comply whenever he was asked to do so. The Congress government, in the last three years, had targeted the BRS and its leader K. Chandrashekar Rao as a tactic to keep the focus of people away from the real problems the state was facing, he claimed.
Rama Rao, speaking to reporters outside the ACB Special Court after Friday’s hearing, defended the decision of the then BRS government to hold the Formula E race saying the event brought a good name to Hyderabad and Telangana, and the event was aimed at attracting investments in the e-mobility sector. The BRS leader had maintained for long that there was no wrongdoing, no corruption in the conduct of the race and that the entire case was a witch hunt by the Congress government.
