Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, has hit the headlines with a report suggesting that he is currently hospitalized after an attempted suicide. The comedian, who allegedly got the name Carrot Top from his swimming coach, is known for his prop comedy and stage performances.
While Carrot Top’s comic sense is something that people remain in awe of, he once famously said that he thinks he’s not as funny as other comedians. Coming back to the current report, TMZ reported that on September 17, 2026, Carrot Top was rushed to a local hospital after he attempted suicide in the Las Vegas Area.

Reportedly, they started dating in 2014. The duo’s Facebook features photos of them from 2013 and 2014. The comedian also called Amanda ‘girlfriend’ in an adorable post on her birthday in 2014. While their current relationship status isn’t known, till 2024, several reports tagged Amanda as Carrot Top’s girlfriend.
Amanda has been a strong support system for Carrot Top since the very beginning. Amanda is a business owner who was born in 1993 and is the founder of Any Thyme Catering, which is a catering and event planning company.
Along with that, Amanda has a handmade pottery and tableware shop on Etsy. While not many details about the couple’s relationship are available, it was reported by The Sun that they might have met in Las Vegas. Several reports claimed that Carrot is married to Amanda; however, that might not be true.

After completing high school, Carrot Top enrolled at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. During his freshman year, he performed his first stand-up comedy gig, and the rest was history. In 1991, he had his big break as he performed on Comic Strip Live.
The comedian was also seen in Star Search, a television series, at the same time. During this time, Carrot Top appeared in several series, sitcoms, and shows, including Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Spectacular, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, George Lopez, and Tugger: The Jeep 4×4 Who Wanted to Fly, among others.
Carrot Top also appeared in the film Chairman of the Board. Apart from his screen presence and comedy gigs, he also hosted Cartoon Network’s AM Mayhem and starred as a spokesperson in 1-800-CALL-ATT commercials. In 2005, the comedian reportedly launched his headlining residency at Luxor.
Carrot Top has been a long-time performer and headliner at Luxor, and following the shocking incident, his show was canceled. No further details about the reason have been revealed officially; however, his representative told TMZ that the comedian is in the hospital and under supervision, surrounded by his close ones. The representative said:
“Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers, and respectfully ask for privacy.”
