Hyderabad:Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary M. Jeevan Reddy pitched for enhanced national and international action in the City during his visit to the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on Friday.

After attending the AGM, “the HCA secretary had a long cordial discussion on matters relating to HCA, including the great push the present body has been doing in taking the game to the nook and corners of Telangana, a major step towards this being the appointment of District Infrastructure Develop-ment Committee under the chairmanship of former secretary Shesh Narayan and four others,” the HCA stated in a press release.

The participation of the HCA Secretary at the AGM reaffirmed the Association’s continued engagement with the BCCI and its commitment to the development of cricket, particularly grassroots, junior and women’s cricket, in Hyderabad and Telangana, it added.

Request for support was sought apart from allotting Women’s IPL matches in future, since women’s cricket has been given a big push this year by conducting matches all over the state and holding selections/ camps in Hyderabad, apart from conducting women’s leagues being the top priority. “Several other important issues and the support from the State of Telangana, initiated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, were also brought to notice of the BCCI Secretary,” HCA spokesperson Shesh said.

“Hyderabad, a founder member of the national cricket board, has contributed a large number of players to national teams during the last few decades, and continues to produce cricketers regularly. The vision to provide opportunity to merit and talent is the foremost endeavour of this committee headed by the new secretary,” he added.
