Tehran is awaiting Donald Trump’s response to its conditions for restarting negotiations, security chief Mohsen Rezaei has said
Iran has conveyed its peace terms to the US through Qatari mediators, the country’s top security official Mohsen Rezaei has said, arguing that it is in Washington’s interest to accept them.
The 60-day period provided under the US-Iranian memorandum of understanding to negotiate a settlement expired last month without a deal, while disrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continues to drive up energy prices.
“Seven conditions set by Iran for the start of any negotiations have been conveyed to the US administration. Tehran’s message is clear and unambiguous: If Washington wants to escape the predicament it has created for itself and avoid becoming further entangled in it, it has no choice but to recognize Iran’s rights and accept its conditions,” Rezaei wrote on X on Saturday.
