Jets vs. Packers prediction, picks: Breece Hall to run wild in upset

It sounds like a gross, rainy affair is in the cards for Sunday afternoon in the Meadowlands.

That’s not what the Packers wanted to hear, as they’re looking to air it out — especially in this contest.

The line opened at Green Bay -5.5, but that has come down dramatically to -3.5 after the Jets looked excellent in their opener in Tennessee.

If the Packers can’t air it out, they’ll need to rely on Marshawn Lloyd, who averaged an embarrassing 2.8 yards per carry in his starter’s debut last week.

Running backs usually aren’t a big piece of a betting handicap, but in a rain-soaked affair where the Packers may struggle to throw the ball, I’d prefer the Jets’ superior offensive line to the Packers’ seemingly low-end one we saw last week in their road loss to Minnesota.

For that reason, I’m in on the Jets moneyline to shockingly start the season 2-0, with the conditions acting as a massive benefit to them.

Pro Football Focus rated the Jets’ running back core No. 5 entering the season, but their secondary is rated No. 29.

Betting on the NFL?

Rain should help them halt Green Bay’s passing offense.

I’ll also grab Over 15.5 carries for Breece Hall (-121, BetRivers) and a long-shot bet of Over 21.5 carries (+520, DraftKings) in an anticipated slobberknocker this weekend.

PREDICTION: Jets moneyline (+170, DraftKings) | Breece Hall over 15.5 carries (-121, BetRivers) | Over 21.5 carries (+520, DraftKings)
