Bike stolen in Vikarabad town
Hyderabad: A motorcycle was stolen near Assam Bakery in Vikarabad town on Sunday. Sarapu Venkatesh had parked his black-coloured vehicle (TS 07 EM 2301) in front of his house around 4.30 pm; by the time he returned after stepping inside, miscreants had stolen the bike. Vikarabad police registered a case and said they were investigating.
Missing girls traced to Bengaluru
Kadapa:Two minor girls who went missing from Saipet under Kadapa II Town police station limits were traced to Bengaluru within 24 hours with the help of CCTV footage and technical evidence. Police had registered Crime No. 147/2026 based on a complaint. Investigation revealed they had travelled from Kadapa to Tirupati and then to Bengaluru. Inspector V. Srihari launched a special search operation with SI R.V. Kondareddy, constables Ramakrishna and Tulasi Ramaiah, and woman constable Shabarin. The team examined CCTV footage along the route and tracked their movements. A special police team went to Bengaluru and traced the girls, who were safely handed over to their parents after completing procedures.
Suicide bid outside police station
Warangal:A man allegedly attempted to die by suicide outside Mills Colony police station on Sunday after he and the opposite side approached the petitions with petitions in a marital dispute. The couple, from the Ursu area of Warangal, had lodged complaints over their family dispute. During proceedings, the husband, Anoop, attempted to end his life and the police intervened promptly and rescued him. Police later counselled both husband and wife and sent them home. This was reportedly the second such incident at Mills Colony police station recently. Circle Inspector K. Swamy advised people facing disputes to seek legal remedies instead of resorting to extreme measures, warning that such actions could invite legal consequences.
EAGLE Force busts drug supply chain
Hyderabad:Telangana EAGLE Force said it had uncovered an organised drug supply chain extending from the rural Koraput district in Odisha through Pachipenta in Vizianagaram to Hyderabad. The 36‑hour operation targeted the source, financial trail and supply network, while also supporting consumers through recovery.
EAGLE Force director Sandeep Shandilya said 23 consumers completed treatment at a de‑addiction centre and obtained rehabilitation certificates. Based on information from Satya Avinash, a cocaine and MDMA peddler, investigators found drugs were procured via WhatsApp, payments made through PhonePe, and Google Maps locations shared for collection through a “dead drop” system.
Human and technical intelligence gathered in June and July helped identify 31 carriers, key financial links and about 230 consumers. Five key persons linked to the Odisha supply network — Sanjya Mari, Kamesh Mari, Dambu Khora, Anasu Khara and Sethi Rakesh — along with one juvenile were arrested. On the consumer side, 100 persons were apprehended, of whom 80 tested positive and were referred for rehabilitation through court intervention under Section 64‑A of the NDPS Act.
Shandilya said the development marks a transition from enforcement to rehabilitation, giving individuals an opportunity to break away from addiction. The rehabilitation of 23 consumers demonstrates the importance of a coordinated approach involving law enforcement, de‑addiction centres, parents, healthcare professionals and the judiciary.
