Now, in an interview with TMZ, Brian shared his side of the story. He stated that the USB drive recording mentioned in the lawsuit had already been deleted. He alleged that he never threatened Carrot to post any video in exchange for a settlement. Brian mentioned that he was sorry to hear that Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, had apparently done something to harm himself. He said:
“I never threatened – ever – to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement. Sorry that Scott apparently did something to hurt himself.”
In the same interview, Brian shared that he does not consider Carrot a bad person. But according to him, the 61-year-old comedian made a few decisions that were not good ones. Brian went on to say that he was not responsible for what happened to Carrot. He added that they do not even know what exactly happened to the comedian. Brian said:

According to the September 3, 2026, court filing, Brian Evans allegedly told the comedian’s lawyer that he could choose ‘Path A’, which involved paying USD 500,000 to settle the claims.
If the payment was not made, Carrot’s former colleague allegedly indicated that he could file another document in court that might contain the explicit material on the USB drive. Evans reportedly said that if the USB drive became part of the public court records, the media would probably report about it and make assumptions over it. In an email, Brian reportedly wrote to Carrot Top’s lawyer that, because the ongoing case has already received media attention, journalists would likely write about the court filing and make their own guesses about the contents of the USB drive.
