Hyderabad: Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee on Monday said that the last day of having darshan of the 69-foot Panchamukha Sankatahara Maha Ganapati at Khairatabad is September 23.
In a statement, it informed devotees that darshan of Khairatabad Bada Ganesh will be allowed only till midnight of September 23 and made it clear that there will be no darshan on September 24 as the committee must make preparations for immersion of the idol in Hussainsagar in front of NTR Gardens.
The committee requested the devotees to plan their visit accordingly. Since the commencement of the festival on September 14, a large number of devotees started visiting Khairatabad to offer prayers at the tallest idol.
Anticipating huge turnout during the 11-day Ganesh festivities, the Hyderabad police in coordination with the Roads and Buildings and GHMC put up separate barricades connecting the pandal and ensured proper queue for the convenience of devotees.
The traffic police also made elaborate traffic arrangements to avoid chaos near Khairatabad. Separate parking lots were also set up to help devotees park their vehicles easily.
