Cindy Crawford hailed her son for being a “warrior” just months before his tragic death at the weekend.
The singer’s model son Presley Gerber, 27, had posted about undergoing an Ibogaine treatment in Mexico on Instagram in March. Ibogaine is a psychoactive indole alkaloid derived from the root bark of the Tabernanthe iboga shrub and is used experimentally for withdrawal symptoms and cravings for substances such as alcohol, opioids and cocaine. Research has also been conducted on it over its potential to help those suffering from PTSD.
Supermodel Cindy, 60, her husband Rande Gerber, 64, and Presley’s sister Kaia, 25, all showed their support on the post, with Cindy writing: “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!”
While his dad proudly commented: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”
Kaia wrote: “That’s my brother. I am so damn proud.”
Presley had been written in the caption of the post: “Pre Ibogaine Flood Dose – quiet moment before everything changed. i was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this (helps to not go into the situations you do that get ya there but that’s life sometimes.)
“My mantras were love yourself and lis gotta be the last time for this reason. letting go of control didn’t come easy, but I trusted there was something bigger than me guiding it. I knew why i was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, i started finding my way back to myself…. We shall see…. Praying it’s the last time I have to come back.

Ibogaine is a banned substance in the US and cannot legally be prescribed and is categorised as a schedule I drug.
However, a number of famous faces have endorsed its benefits, including Melissa Etheridge, whose 21-year-old son Beckett died from a fentanyl overdose in 2020.

When approached for comment by TMZ for comment on Presley’s status, a representative for Cindy, her husband Rande Gerber, and their daughter Kaia Gerber confirmed that he had died earlier on Sunday.
They said: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
In January 2019, Presley was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. (DUI) which saw him sentenced to three years’ probation. He was also ordered to complete a DUI program, as well as two days of community service.
Presley was the only son of Cindy and Rande and has long struggled with his mental health as well as substance and drug abuse.
Presley, a model in his own right, was the brother of model and actor Kaia Gerber, who is currently appearing on FX’s seductive thriller series The Shards.
Only weeks ago, while on a press junket tour to promote the TV programme – which has been hailed as a real return to form for showrunner Ryan Murphy – she opened up about her brother’s battle with addiction.“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” the 25-year-old said in an interview with Vogue. “I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”
