Professional services group AAB has picked Simon Bachelor as head of its hotel accounting division.
Bachelor takes over from Ian Bremner, who has retired following a “successful career” at the company’s hotel accounting business, a statement said.
He brings more than 20 years of experience across hospitality finance, management and hotel operations, having spent nearly eight years in direct operational positions.
AAB’s hotel accounting division works with family owned enterprises, hotel chains, individual properties, management companies, owner-managed businesses and sector investors.
It offers support across benchmarking, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, management accounting and performance analytics.
In his new role, Bachelor will lead the specialist practice providing accounting and financial services to hospitality businesses across the UK and Ireland.
Bachelor said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of head of Hotel Accounting at AAB.
“Hospitality has been at the heart of my career, both from a finance and operational perspective, and that experience gives me a deep appreciation of the challenges and opportunities our clients face every day.

The appointment forms part of AAB’s ongoing geographic expansion and sector-specific investment across the UK and Ireland.

The company currently employs more than 1,900 staff, with revenues exceeding $267m (£200m).
Earlier this year, AAB bolstered its Irish footprint by acquiring two accountancy practices – FM Accountants in Dublin and LSMQ in Carlow.
