Vibe (2026) starring Kunal Kemmu, Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir takes the spy-comedy route with a light and unassuming approach. It largely gained a positive word of mouth from audiences and critics alike, especially for the comic sequences in the first half, for evoking laughs without trying too much.
Vibe also marks the Bollywood debut of Vanshika Dhir who plays Kareena in the film. In a candid conversation with Filmfare, Vanshika spoke about getting onboard and working with seasoned and talented actors like Preity Zinta and Kunal Kemmu in the film.
Talking about her first meet with Preity, Vanshika said, “I’ve grown up watching Preity Zinta’s films. I was initially terrified because I’ve looked up to her so much, but she was just a sweetheart. She was lovely with me. The first time I met her on set was on her first day. I wasn’t required that day, but I still wanted to come and meet her. I just sat behind the monitor quietly, staring at her and how gorgeous she looked.”
Sharing what she learnt from Preity, Vanshika added, “The most important thing I learned from her is that when she steps onto that set, she knows where her eyeline is and how something can look better. She is so sorted that way because, obviously, she’s been doing this for years. She guided me really well.”
She also credited Preity for making her feel at home on the sets. “Honestly, I’m so grateful that she was there to do that for me because I think I would have been pretty lost. She knew that I was away from my mom, so somewhere I felt like she was my on-set mother. I felt like I was just in this safe bubble whenever she was around. I was obsessed with her,” she added.
After his directorial debut with Madgaon Express (2024), Kunal Kemmu returned to the directors’ chair for the second time with Vibe. Vanshika shared insights she gained from watching him fulfill both the responsibilities on set. “People may have this perception that because Kunal Kemmu is also acting, producing and directing, maybe somewhere that might overwhelm him because he’s doing so much. But he would act with me, then go back to the monitor, then step into his director’s shoes. Then he’d come back and say, ‘Actually, let’s do it like this.’ I saw that happen in front of me, and the ease with which that man fulfilled all those roles left me in awe,” she said.
Vibe released theatrically on September 18, 2026, and has reportedly raked in total India net collections of Rs 7.45 Cr so far.
