Hyderabad:Gopalapuram police have registered a case against Zreni Solution Ltd and its managing partner B. Ramana Reddy for allegedly carrying out excavation work near Metro Rail pillars C1192 and C1193 near the Iskcon temple in Secunderabad without permission.
The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). Metro Rail officials said the sections under which the case was registered were yet to be communicated to them by the police.
In its complaint, HMRL said excavation in the vicinity of Metro infrastructure without prior permission or intimation was a serious concern from the standpoint of safety and protection of the infrastructure.
Officials said such work required adequate precautions against risks associated with excavation, including soil instability, water ingress and other site-related hazards.
The excavation was allegedly carried out before September 17 and came to light on Thursday. This newspaper had earlier reported the unauthorised excavation near the Metro pillars.
HMRL stated in its complaint that M/s Zreni Solution Ltd had not obtained permission to carry out the excavation.
However, the technical assessment presently available with HMRL has not indicated any adverse impact on the structural integrity of the main Metro pillars.
