The board also said it would carry out repairs within 24 hours if a leakage was noticed anywhere on its 15,000 km of pipeline.
The reason for the emphasis on water conservation was stated to be the El Nino impact on rainfall, Manjira and Singur reservoirs running dry and water demand in the city increasing.
