The Vikings quarterback dilemma only lasted one week.
On Monday, coach Kevin O’Connell announced that Kyler Murray cleared concussion protocol and will be back under center on Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Murry suffered a concussion on the third drive of their season-opening win against the Packers, forcing him to exit and putting him in the league’s protocol.
The 29-year-old practiced only on a limited basis since and was ultimately ruled out for their 9-3 Week 2 victory over the Bears on Sunday that was led by backup Carson Wentz.
Thanks to Wentz, the Vikings sit atop of the NFC North and have a pair of divisional wins under their belt.
The fact that Murray was able to practice at all was encouraging for the Vikings. Now he will travel to Tampa and look to add to their 2-0 start.
Throughout his NFL career, Murray has dealt with various injuries that have kept him on the sideline.

The Oklahoma product logged two healthy seasons to start his career, but then ran into injury trouble.
He missed three games in 2021, six in 2022, nine in 2023 and a whopping 12 in 2025 with a foot injury.
Following the road trip to Tampa, the Vikings will host the Dolphins at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 4.
In Week 5, they’re on the road again to New Orleans.
The Vikings will hope Murray bounces back quickly and leads them to a postseason appearance after missing the cut in 2025.
