Davante Adams had a huge game against the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium in Week 2. With Puka Nacua out with an injury, Matthew Stafford kept going to Adams and he responded with a number of big plays. While the Giants were settling for field goals, Adams and the Los Angeles Rams were scoring touchdowns.
After making just three catches for 26 yards in Week 1 against the 49ers in Australia, Adams had 195 yards and two touchdowns in the middle of the third quarter against the Giants.

During the Rams’ second drive of the third quarter Stafford hit Adams down the left sideline for a 23-yard gain. Adams made an incredible effort to get two feet down as he dove out of bounds. As he got up to run back to the huddle two of the Rams’ assistant coaches came over to congratulate him and one of them basically met him chest to chest and knocked Adams down.

Block or charge? It’s a tough call, but either way Adams didn’t seem happy about it. Rather than accept help up he stood up on his own and spun away from the coaches without exchanging any pleasantries. Was he actually annoyed? We may never know. Anyone who hangs out with Aaron Rodgers and has a Taco Bell in his living room can be difficult to read.

This was Adams’ first multi-touchdown game since Week 13 last season. It’s also his biggest yardage total since he joined the Rams.
