Hyderabad: A final decision whether to allow immersion of Ganesh idols on Tank Bund is expected during a meeting convened by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) with the police and municipal officials today evening.
The meeting will be presided over by BGUS president Raghava Reddy. The Police Commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri apart from Commissioner of GHMC, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporations would attend.
Hyderabad, Medchal and Ranga Reddy districts Collectors, Commissioner of HYDRAA, RTA Joint Commissioner, HMWSSB Managing Director and other senior officials will attend.
Ganesh pandal organizers and devotees expressed dissatisfaction over the administration for not allowing immersion on Tank Bund like every year. Long queues of vehicles with Ganesh idols were seen on Necklace Road and Sanjeevaiah Park on fifth, sixth and seventh day of the Ganesh navaratri festival to immerse the idol.
To avoid rush, the administration must allow immersion on Tank Bund.
