Vijayawada: In a tragic incident, a 46-year-old woman allegedly died after falling into a vessel of boiling sambar while helping prepare food for a Vinayaka Chavithi Annadanam programme.
The deceased, Maddhi Sujatha, a resident of KL Rao Nagar in Vijayawada, had been staying at her younger son’s house for the past few days. She had gone to help her relatives with cooking arrangements for the programme.
According to reports, Sujatha accidentally fell into the vessel of boiling sambar while trying to remove it from the flame. She suffered severe burn injuries to her face and other parts of her body.
She was immediately shifted to a government hospital for treatment. However, she died while undergoing treatment.
