Sean McVay went from seeing his team crush the New York Giants on the field to roasting himself following the Los Angeles Rams‘ 28-6 win at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Monday.

“Sometimes you have a dumb**s coach that makes travel plans that put you in a bad spot,” the Rams head coach said during the postgame press conference before leaving the podium with a smile on his face(h/t Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated).
Unlike in their Week 1 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, the Rams looked full of life in the Giants game. It can be recalled that the Rams were criticized and trolled for their unconventional decision to arrive for the international game close to game day, whereas San Francisco was already several days into its trip in the Land Down Under before meeting Los Angeles on the field.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Davante Adams looked so much more comfortable (and dangerous) at home in Week 2 than they did in Week 1.

Stafford went off for 327 passing yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-31 completions. He was picked off once, but that was minor compared to the damage he dealt on New York‘s defense. Helping Stafford embarrass the Giants pass defense was Adams.
After recording only 26 receiving yards on three catches in Week 1, the veteran wideout ripped New York for 195 receiving yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions and 10 targets.

Meanwhile, the Rams held the Giants to just 182 total yards. Granted that New York lost Jaxson Dart to injury early, that shouldn’t take away from the success of Los Angeles’ stop unit.
