New York Giants WR Malik Nabers made a personal sacrifice to ensure he could stay on the field during an injury-riddled loss for NY against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams picked up a comfortable 28-6 win over the Giants, as the New York-based franchise suffered multiple injuries to key players and the Rams’ defense completely suffocated them.

In addition to injuries to QB Jaxson Dart, LT Andrew Thomas, and OLB Brian Burns, WR Malik Nabers left the game with a shoulder injury before returning later, taking a major personal health risk while doing so.

Malik Nabers fixed his own dislocated shoulder to keep playing for Giants

Nabers revealed after the game to reporters that his shoulder popped out when he left with the injury, and that he had to pop it back in to return to the game.

“My shoulder’s okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what’s going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost Jax, so I didn’t want to give the team another loss… It popped out, and I just popped it back in.”

Nabers suffered his shoulder injury on a contested jump ball from backup QB Jameis Winston against Rams CB Trent McDuffie at the end of the first quarter.

He returned midway through the second quarter after popping his shoulder back into place, but was largely ineffective.

He had one catch for one yard on four targets, going 0-for-3 after returning from his shoulder injury.

The Giants lost multiple players to injuries in this clash, as QB Jaxson Dart reportedly sprained his left MCL on the opening drive of the game and never returned.

LT Andrew Thomas picked up a groin injury in the fourth quarter, while OLB Brian Burns hurt his ankle and had to be helped off the field.

Hopefully, Nabers didn’t worsen his injury by returning to play in a blowout loss while the team was severely undermanned, especially as he’s still recovering from a torn ACL as well.
