The makers of Fauzi have delivered disappointing news to fans. The Prabhas-starrer will not meet its December 3 release date. This effectively rules out any chance of the multilingual film, which was set to be Prabhas’ second release of 2026, arriving this year after all.
Speaking at the pre-release event for The Paradise on Monday evening, producer Y Ravi Shankar apologised to the audience for the delay. “Fauzi has been pushed back a little,” he said. “But trust me, it’s on a different level altogether. It’s Baahubali-esque in the way it presents Prabhas garu. You are going to cherish this film for a lifetime; it’s that great.”

While Prabhas’ fans haven’t received an official explanation for the postponement, sources suggest it stems from delays in post-production. Even so, the buzz remains high, especially after the producer, known for the Pushpa franchise and the recent Irumudi, promised a visual spectacle reminiscent of Baahubali, which stunned audiences nearly eight years ago.
Fauzi was originally slated for an Independence Day release this year before being pushed to December 3. Now, with that date also off the table, a new release window sometime in early 2027 is expected to be announced soon. The delay is being attributed to the film’s massive scale, multi-unit shooting schedules and the extensive post-production work required to match its ambitious vision.
