Kareena Kapoor Khan penned a note of gratitude for everyone who showered her with love on her birthday. The actress recently turned 46, with social media flooded with birthday wishes from her fans, family members and industry colleagues.
Kareena took to Instagram Stories to share a picture of her birthday cake, which was decorated with several candles. The words ‘Happy Birthday Amma!’ were written below.
Sharing the photo, Kareena wrote, “Thank you, everyone. I have felt the love in each and every message you’ve sent my way…I’m forever grateful, and I will only and always continue to be myself…To make the best choices I can, with all your love and positivity by my side…Onwards and upwards, peeps! Love you all, always and forever.”

Kareena Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Refugee in 2000, opposite Abhishek Bachchan, and went on to establish herself with films such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…, Chameli, Omkara and Jab We Met. Over the years, she became equally known for her commercial successes, including 3 Idiots, Bodyguard, Ra. One, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Good Newwz, while continuing to take on varied roles in films like Heroine, Udta Punjab and Talaash.
Most recently, the actress was seen in Meghna Gulzar’s crime thriller Daayra, in which she plays DCP Ajooni Kohli, a police officer investigating a controversial case. The film, inspired by true events, sees Kareena’s character clash with Prithviraj Sukumaran’s DCP Raman Kumar, with the two officers taking opposing positions as the investigation raises questions around a police encounter, law and justice. Daayra also marks Kareena and Prithviraj’s first film together.
Filmfare gave Daayra 4.5 out of 5 stars and wrote in its review, “There are no easy answers here. Daayra occasionally tilts towards one side of its argument and gives Prithviraj the more compelling dramatic journey, but its refusal to provide a final verdict is ultimately appropriate. It is a hard-hitting, earthy crime drama that understands that the most disturbing part of a terrible crime may not be the crime itself, but what society chooses to do in its aftermath.”
