ITV has unveiled a controversial clip from Big Brother star Chelsey Ammari’s audition
Big Brother fans have been left baffled by a controversial clip that wasn’t shown on the main show.
A new season of the ITV series is well underway and it has already seen its share of drama. In just one week, viewers have watched everything from cast feuds to new romances unfolding on screen. One of the biggest love stories has been between social worker Chelsey and property developer Lynx, who clicked on the very first day.
The duo have stuck together since launch night, although they recently had an argument because Chelsey felt like Lynx didn’t take her side after her spat with fellow housemate Johanne. But the couple squashed their disagreement on Monday night (September 21), and even shared a passionate kiss in bed.
However, Chelsey has since come under fire for seemingly ‘contradictory’ comments she made in her audition tape. ITV unveiled a clip from her audition during the latest episode of Big Brother’s companion show, The Group Chat.
In it, Chelsey complains about people “that make a man their whole entire world“. She explains: “You know like people that are obsessed with their boyfriends? That p**** me off.” She then describes the people she “gets on” with.
Chelsey reveals: “People that I get on with [are] people that have good banter. I think boys’ banter is so much better than girls’ banter. I’ve got loads of boy friends and when I’m with a group of boys and they’re all just basically taking the p*** out of each other and saying really mean things, which is obviously a joke, I just find it hilarious.
“I feel like girls are just a bit more sensitive and you can’t have those sort of jokes with them.” The clip has sparked uproar online as viewers argued that the Manchester-based star is displaying the behaviours that she slams in her audition.
Most of Chelsey’s TV journey has revolved around her partnership with Lynx and some viewers have described her as “sensitive”. ITV host GK Barry even addressed the “irony” of the audition clip, saying: “It is ironic because Lynx is her whole world. Also about girls are a bit more sensitive, she’s been crying for two days over something Lynx has done.”
Fans at home share the same opinion, with one posting online: “Extreme hypocrisy in motion,” while a second added: “That just didn’t age well at all.”
Someone else chimed in: “Definition of contradiction,” and a fourth person who hasn’t tuned into the show added: “I’m not watching BB and even I’m aware of how her entire story is about her and Lynx.”
