VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam City Task Force personnel seized an illegal pistol and five rounds of ammunition and arrested two persons under Two Town police limits on Monday evening.
The arrested persons were identified as G. Sai Narayana, 29, of Gollalapalem, and Kalipilli Ananda Kumar of Ramnagar.
Two Town inspector K. Appala Naidu said the arrests followed a complaint by Rajasekhara Reddy of Ramnagar, who alleged that Sai Narayana fired at him with the pistol, but it did not discharge. All five rounds were intact, the inspector said.
Sai Narayana and Narendra were partners in a food joint at the GVMC shopping complex. A financial dispute reportedly arose between them, with Reddy intervening in favour of Narendra. Police alleged that Sai, bearing a grudge against Reddy, procured the pistol from Bihar and attempted to fire at him.
A case was registered against Sai Narayana and Ananda Kumar under Section 109(1) of the BNS and Section 25 of the Arms Act. Further investigation is under way.
