An exciting player is set to return to Liverpool, and it’s great news.
Andoni Iraola knows he is treading a thin line at Liverpool. The Spaniard has liked to work with a big squad full of a myriad of options in the past.

Even at Bournemouth, where the Cherries were mostly just playing one game a week, Iraola had a multitude of options and a relatively big squad in comparisons to other teams in the same position.
That was necessary because of the intensity of Iraola’s style. He demands so much from his players and that demand takes a toll, which means substitutions and rotations are necessary.
At Liverpool, the Reds are on a tight rope. Right now injuries are good, but for how long?
Liverpool’s current injury situation
At this moment in time, there are only a couple of serious injury problems within the squad.

Hugo Ekitike and Connor Bradley are both ruled out for the considerable future. Meanwhile, Isaac Mabaya was forced to be substituted while playing for the U21s, and it remains to be seen whether he can feature for Zimbabwe during the international break after receiving his maiden call-up.
For Bradley and Ekitike, their lays-offs are expected to last until the end of the year. Liverpool don’t harbour any realistic hopes of either of the two coming back any time soon.
The good news is that Federico Chiesa is expected to return, and so is his Italian compatriot.
Giovanni Leoni is finally coming back from his injury
Leoni all had us hooked after his incredible debut against Southampton last season. He came out of nowhere and then suddenly putting an awe-inspiring performance that pretty much made most of our jaws drop. That’s how good he was.

He was not only an imposing figure at the back, but he was quick and he could control the tempo of the game. He shrugged opponents aside and just looked like an insane prospect. He was just simply outrageous.
Of course, the injury he suffered to his knee was a devastating blow. It’s now been close to a year and we are still waiting for his return.
But there is good news on the way.
This is Anfield are reporting that Leoni could be back during the international break and could even feature for the U21s in the EFL Trophy against Chesterfield on October 6th.
That would be incredible. With Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo at the helm, having Leoni as an option as well would give Iraola insane depth.
