Dolly Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, has issued a firm response to losing his security job just weeks after he was tasked with announcing the death of the Country icon
Dolly Parton’s nephew has hit out after losing his security role within the estate. Bryan Seaver, who was the person to announce the music icon’s death, has slammed her manager, Danny Nozell, and Pinnacle Bank after he was fired from his longtime post as the head of security.
According to reports, Bryan was handed the notice last week. There was then a team of new security officers brought together to take guard at Dolly’s main home in Nashville, as well as at her museum, downtown residence, and warehouse.
And Bryan now says he is “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” in the wake of the legendary singer’s death.
Speaking to TMZ he said: “We remain unshakably resolved to fulfil her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much.”
Bryan, who is the son of Dolly’s sister Cassie, was tasked with sharing the devastating news that the Country icon had died. In August, he said his aunt had entrusted him with delivering the news.
Sharing it via a a video message shared to Instagram, he said: “I am representing the Parton and Owens family today, announcing the passing of my Aunt Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean. Sister, Sis and Aunt Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next.
“As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now. It is an honour that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly.”
He added: “By her example, we believed that anything was possible. She never saw a door she couldn’t open, and the doors she opened made and changed history. My family and I have shared a lifetime of beautiful memories with Dolly, but so have you.”
He also attended the memorial for his late aunt, with about a dozen of Parton’s closest relatives. Dolly’s cousin, Richie Owens, said on Today earlier this month that the burial was “very quiet [and] very quickly done.”
“She wanted it very small,” Owens added.
Since her death. it’s been claimed Dolly went to Germany for experimental treatment amid her secret cancer battle just one year before she died aged 80. Reports suggest that she took a private jet to Frankfurt to undergo experimental treatment. Speaking to TMZ, sources claimed that she stayed in Frankfurt for a week before returning to Tennessee and that she felt her treatment had been effective at restoring her strength.
