Basketball is back, and Michigan State is gearing up for a massive 2026-27 season. The upcoming season will be Tom Izzo’s 32nd behind the bench of the Spartans.
Michigan State is coming into the season as one of the nation’s most touted teams, and is firmly in the mix to be a contender in both the Big Ten title and national championship race. The first step towards achieving those goals started on Tuesday, when practice officially opened and the Spartans got the action underway.

Following practice, Izzo spoke to the media, where he touched on all of the things. Izzo addressed the football team, and the fans needing to be there and supportive on Saturday, He touched on roster management and the excitement surrounding his program heading into the season.
